Sr. Manager of Proposal Business Development – Denver
We are currently recruiting for our client in the commercial building services industry. This role will be responsible for driving new business generation through overseeing the entire proposal/RFP process, from identification to close. You will work closely with Executive Management in the process of bid/no bid decisions. The ideal candidate will have at least 8 years of proposal/RFP business development experience in the commercial facilities, or building services industry. The ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, with extremely high attention to detail and quality in business correspondence is crucial to the success of this role. A Bachelors degree in English, Journalism, Marketing, or Business Administration is preferred.

Optics Project Engineer - Boulder
In this role you will integrate fabrication, coating, and metrology technologies to provide product solutions for customers, by defining prototype specifications and overseeing first time builds. In this role you will develop product lifecycle maturity and improve product manufacturability through product work flow yield, throughput, and cost improvements. The right candidate will have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering (Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Physics, Applied Chemistry, or Material Science) plus at least two years experience in Product Engineering, or five plus years of hands on experience with machining, manufacturing, prototype, or other production, plant, maintenance, or industrial work. Experience with Product Documentation Management (PDM) software, SolidWorks, and or other solid modeling or CAD software a plus. COMMUNITY REENTRY PROJECT (CRP)
The Community Re-Entry Project (CRP) is a partnership between the City of Denver and community partners to provide a one-stop service for people recently released from the Denver County Jail. The CRP is a program of the Council on Substance Abuse and Mental Health located at 655 Broadway in Denver.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Career Development Coordinator works in collaboration with CRP case managers to assess participants’ employment readiness by identifying their interests, skill level and appropriate job placement opportunities consistent with their individualized transition plans and assessments. The CDC is also a motivator and educator responsible for teaching weekly employment classes regarding resume writing, interviewing skills, and effective job search strategies. The CDC recruits and supervises college interns and volunteers to provide one-on-one career coaching and basic computer literacy skills to clients. The CDC works with the Director in developing partnerships with business members and community collaborators to cultivate career path opportunities including on-the-job training programs, wage-subsidy positions and targeted hiring initiatives for pre-screened applicants. The CDC presents information to employers and service providers regarding the mission of the CRP and the benefits of employing and integrating formerly incarcerated persons into the workforce as a strategy for creating healthier and safer communities. The CDC assists with evaluation, staff support, data management, reporting, and fundraising as required.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

Career Coaching – Through employment classes and individualized transition plans and assessments, the CDC works in collaboration with clients and their case managers to reflect on past job choices and identify future opportunities with the goal of maximizing the individual’s potential for job retention and advancement.
- Evaluates an individual’s work history, education and training, job skills, and other qualifications.
- Counsels individuals and provides educational and vocational guidance services.
- Provides occupational information to enable an individual to formulate realistic educational and vocational plans.
- Helps individuals to modify attitudes and patterns of behavior by increasing understanding of self and strategies for developing positive social connections.
- Assists clients in identifying their skills and marketing their strengths to prospective employers including identifying strategies to access the hidden job market.

Job Development Skills - Promotes and develops employment and on-the-job training opportunities for formerly incarcerated persons.
- Develops work opportunities that allow ex-offenders to experience success in performing tasks that teach work values, such as self-improvement, independence, dependability, and productivity.
- Collaborates with members of industrial and business communities to determine training needs for apprentice and non-apprentice occupations.
- Establishes and maintains working relationships with local employers to promote hiring of ex-offenders.
- Assists employers in revising standards that exclude ex-offenders from jobs.
- Identifies jobs in the community that ex-offenders can perform.
- Develops knowledge of vocational rehabilitation theory and practice, program funding sources, and government regulations.


Pre-Screening & Job Placement – Identifies suitable jobs consistent with career paths identified in the client’s transition plan, clarifies expectations and conditions for employment in particular field or initiative, and provides information regarding duties and responsibilities of both traditional and emerging industries.
- Contacts prospective employers to determine their needs and to solicit job vacancies for ex-offenders.
- Reviews job vacancies and matches candidates with job requirements.
- Interviews job applicants to select candidates who meet employer qualifications.
- Arranges interviews between employers and candidates to facilitate placement.
- Conducts events, such as job fairs, that bring employers into contact with groups of ex-offenders.
- Informs individuals of job duties and responsibilities, compensation and benefits, work schedules and working conditions, company and union policies, promotional opportunities, and other related information.

Job Retention & Advancement – Develops strategies in partnership with clients to maintain employment and advance in the job market.
- Develops opportunities for ex-offenders to obtain life skills training in the following skill areas:
a) Employability/job search skills such as career/job awareness, the use of classified ads, writing business letters and resumes, filling out applications, interview techniques, and appropriate behaviors on the job.
b) Using community or free resources, such the internet, obtaining help from social service agencies, and using the library.
c) Defining professional dress for interviews, and referrals for clothing and equipment resources.
d) Modifying attitudes and patterns of behavior that interfere with job placement and retention by increasing understanding of self.
- Provides information on the utilization of community resources addressing barriers to job retention.
- Creates client-driven transition plans.
- Gathers information on job and career factors that may affect morale, motivation, efficiency, and job retention.
- Assists clients with a goal-oriented transition plan to focus attention on steps to advancement.
- Identifies and implements job retention strategies.

Community Collaboration and Outreach Initiatives - Develops formal and informal partnerships and links with community, business, and education including local community college or university, advisory boards, resource community service groups, government agencies, labor, business, industry, civic, church, other groups and individuals including ex-offenders.
- Develops a public relations program to inform people about the goals, objectives, and outcomes of the program in an effort to develop and maintain internal and community support.
- Monitors state and federal regulations that may influence the successful re-integration of ex-offenders back into the community.

Required Qualifications

EDUCATION: A Bachelors degree in Human Services, Criminal Justice, Sociology or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

EXPERIENCE: Minimum three years working in a community-based service organization performing job development, community building or advocacy services. Experience developing formal and informal partnerships with community, business, education, and/or government agencies. Demonstrated ability working effectively within people of color communities.

SKILLS: Excellent public speaking skills and writing skills. Proficiency using word processing, database, spreadsheet, and internet technology. Excellent communication, customer service, and team building skills. Solid computer skills, interviewing strategies, and resume/cover letter writing. Ability to research and incorporate best practices methods.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bilingual/bi-cultural or cultural competency with particular marginalized populations. Experience developing marketing strategies and successful outreach initiatives. Experience working with offender or ex-offender populations.

OTHER: Ability to pass a criminal background check, although past resolved offenses are not automatic disqualifiers and will be determined on a case-by-case basis. Employees are subject to periodic random drug screening.
